Decided to make a new thread as i will be removing my 100gal already and building a new one from scratch.

2 Gal Pico
currently cycling with some liverocks from my old tank.



Current 75 Gal progress
finished my light fixture, cant wait for the tanks!

Nice! Is that Dymax IQ3? Yung old LED lights po ba ng dymax gamit nyo or yung bago?

Ganda rin ng LED nyo sor for 75 gal!

yup iq3! im not sure kung ito yung newer one, pero ung kasama ng tank is 110 and the other one i bought pwedeng 220..

added a float switch for ATO, still thinking if i should use a pump or an airdriven ato..

btw nice set-up sa led nyo sir.. pansin ko rin branded yung led nyo, CREE po sya... ganda po... ilan po total watts nyan?

yup its Royal Blue Cree XT-E and Cool White Cree XP-G R5 LEDs, its a 3watters ea 48pcs in total 144 watts..

my tank was delayed until saturday so planning my sump for now.. i told mang ramon na dito nalang namin ikabit ang buffles para sakto sa skimmer but now im thinking if should i still put a refugium sa sump or make it remote. heres some pics..

my 100gal is now offline and fishes was transferred to a temp tank. naawa ako ang liit ng tank nila hopefully makahanap ako ng stand for the 75 and put them there for the meantime


btw if nag pagawa ako ng remote refugium, i might give up my mangrove they are currently 30inches in height so nowhere to put them.

any help would be much appreciated

05/12/2012 - Tank delivered by mang ramon.. sadly pag dating nila nag brownout! lol then pinabukas nanamin pag alis nila biglang nagkakuryente kamalas lang..



05/13/2012 - me and mang ramon finally finished the pluming and some wood works, no pics of mang ramon kasi busy kami hehe, napakabait ni mang ramon sobra!

*if you're using mangrove as a nutrient exporter, it would be better for you to use macro algae as they are far more efficient in exporting stuff.

an excerpt from a study:
In this study we have found that one handful of Chaetomorpha sp. and Caulerpa serrulata contain 5.7 grams and 2.59 grams of dry weight mass respectively. On mangrove plant (of a length of 43cm/17in with six leaves) weighed 10.3 grams of dry weight. If a home aquarist were able to grow one handful of macroalgae in their sump each month, this would equal 34.2 grams (for Chaetomorpha sp.) and 15.54 grams (Caulerpa serrulata). This would correlate to growing 3 entire mangrove plants and 1.5 mangrove plants during that time in that aquarium!!! That kind of algal growth is common, but that kind of mangrove growth is unprecedented. Therefore our hypothesis was wrong and disproved in this study. The author's viewpoint following this study is that mangrove plants may be useful to aquariums but in terms of nutrient uptake they are far inferior to macroalgae growth.
