Wala pa yung DIY rocks diyan e, siguro after a month ilalagay ko na yung ginawa ko sa right side ng tank. Tapos bili na rin ako ng iba pang equipments gaya ng return pump at additional wavemakers. Dumating na rin yung ilaw namin sa wakas! Tatapusin ko na rin yun this week hehe

Ngayon ko lang din naramdaman na mahirap maglipat ng sobrang laking tank. Dalawa lang kami ni Jerome na umayos niyan, tapos ako lang magisa naglipat ng lahat ng LRs at LS haha.

Hi, pwede malaman kung pano yung procedure ng pag leach out ng phosphate sa sand using caustic soda? RO water ba gagamitin sa pagbabad or pwede na tap water? Ilan din po yung dosage? Thanks

@somethingfishy Honestly bro, I don't have an exact measurement for that. Lalo iba-iba yung PO4 levels ng bawat sand na gamit natin

Anyway, a good way to remove phosphates that are bound to the sand is to rinse it well several times first in a large container, drain the water and in another container, mix enough water and lye until you attain a pH level of at least 10 or higher. (warning: do not put the lye before the water. It's always water first, then slowly add the lye. Also, the solution WILL get HOT. So mix slowly.) Sa part na ito, kahit tapwater lang muna. Mahal ang purified water. Lalo kung ilang kg yung sand mo.

After mixing the lye solution, pour the sand - let sit overnight or for 2 days, drain then rinse again with RO/DI water until pH is back to normal values. Drain again then you could rinse it with fresh saltwater then use it.

Thanks Seth, last time kasi nag add ako ng sand sa established tank biglang nag bloom mga algae, kaya tinanggal ko ulit lahat ng sand. I'll try your procedure.

good luck bro! If ever may lanthanum chloride ka (or sa mga maglilinis din ng sand), don't use if on the sand kasi kakapit yun sa buhangin., magiging dalawa na problema mo pag nagkataon.

@thurrmac nyahaha! Dumating na nga rin yung multichip LEDs namin kaso di ko pa rin maayos kulang kulang pa sa gamit. Katatapos ko lang ilagay yung dalawang DIY rocks sa magkabilang gilid kaso di pa rin ako mapakali sa pwesto. Haha!

Phone cam pics of my most favorite adopted LS. Salamat uli sa mga nagbigay!

Red brain (from bro radj) was initially half-bleached, green brain (from smacks17) had a bit of tissue recession on the bottom part before (see previous pics on this thread)



This shrimp - given by smacks17, was less than an inch when I first took it. Naka-ilang molt na siya sa tank ko at sobrang sipag maglinis ng kamay ko. The brownish-reddish-green cynarina was given by alvinbam


This bubble coral - from Carlos (naghati kami ni roy_gt) was about the size of a closed fist when inflated. Ngayon halos tatlong kamao na yung laki niya.
