The fixtures came around late afternoon, kaso di ko naabutan.

I ordered from a sulit seller (cntco) very quick to respond and very accomodating. I've been asking a lot of questions since I got home from Leyte. Ngayon lang ako nag-place ng order sa kanya pero napaka-sipag niyang magreply sa mga queries.

2x7-watt (1 watt each diode) LED downlights with 30 degree optics, 6400k. Actually wala ring sense yung Kelvin rating para sa LEDs dahil iba iba ang spectral peak ng LEDs. Anyway, I'm sure this would work just fine. 1 week replacement, 1 month service warranty. Bata pa ata yung seller, ang ganda ng sulat eh.

(Nakita ko sa waybill 45 petot lang pala ang shipping, bakit 80 singil saken? Oh well, mas tipid naman kaysa pumunta pa.)

@slyde Kung sa fuge lang naman walang problema... bili ka ng warm white 3000k(?) LED floodlight nila, yun sigurado pang algae/macroalgae talaga dahil madilaw talaga. Mura lang naman ang shipping, and kung weekday ka oorder next day lang din ang dating sa inyo nung parcel.

This was taken a couple of minutes ago without any flash or other ambient lighting. Not really for comparing, but rather some very interesting observations on how collimators (reflectors/lenses) play a big part on a lamp's performance:

This is what we use in the sala, an 18 w 6500k Akari Spiral CFL color and coverage, no reflector/fixture:



As you can see, the light is flat and diffused. Typical of all CFLs and other flourescent fixtures that do not have reflectors. A lot of wasted light.

There's deeper light penetration (no double entendre intended, ) for the LEDs.

The bluish tint is the light bouncing off the reflector. So parang puti siya na may bluish ring.

@Jake I have been searching for blue LEDs in divisoria, but the 1w spotlight is not worth the price. (250 each ) Kung para lang sa color correction, I guess I can use the cheap blue LEDs used in motorcycles or an NO T4/T5 bulb or even just a blue LED strip for 150 petot...pero wala siyang significant benefit for photosynthesis. I haven't been in Raon, I'm still waiting for updates from RonSax. Sana meron dun.

Meron din sa Divisoria, but the fixtures I got from Tintin (cntco) are significantly cheaper. Dirt-cheap in fact, kaya hindi nakakahinayang. Pwede rin magamit sa bahay.

The fixtures look pretty solid enough, but I do not expect them to last for more than 3-4 years (I could be wrong though, pwedeng mas maaga pa or mas matagal pa.) Regardless, mas mura pa rin sila kaysa magpalit ng T5 bulbs annually or bi-annually. And far more cheaper than using my 150 MH again.
