Paul's 100g tank

Here's my 7 days old 100g tank.

Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=160 (looking for solutions like algae scrubber to lower levels)



Lighting achieved via automatic timer switch from CDR King

This tank started it all a month ago. All in 1 day setup, no cycling. Still struggling. Fish lasts for only a week or 2

agree with lickweed. i think you're tank is still cycling. anu na water params mo?

Both for the new 100g tank and 50g tank.

Yung 100g 2 weeks na cycling without LS. Sobra excited lang talaga sa 50g which we started almost 2 months ago. We went to cartimar to buy things for freshwater. We ended buying SW

what did you use for cycling? shrimp ba? wait a couple more weeks again and check your params.if ammonia still remains 0 then time to make a major water change. Your nitrate reading is natural since you are still in cycling process. pag nag major water change ka bababa din yan.

I did not use shrimp. Just live rocks. What brand of salt mix do you suggest, how much and where can I buy the cheapest?

Thanks thurrmac. Here is the summary of my 100g tank parameters

Day/pH/Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate

Day 1: 7.8/0.25/0.5/160
Day 6: 8.2/0/0/160
Day 9: 8.2/0/0/160
Day 11: Installed Algae Scrubber and 8x21 watts NO T5 (plan to add 4x39 watts T5 HO)
Day 12: 8.2/0/0/80

Now I know the problem with my 1st 50g tank. I only used skimmer fit for a nano tank. To all newbies out there, don't listen to sellers at carti. Read first before setting-up your tank.

mindfreak: Hindi kaya dahil lahat ng rocks ko naka submerge na sa NSW when I bought it kaya hindi na tumaas ang amonia?

Thanks for all the inputs. I will re-start my cycle tomorrow by putting shrimps. I will add also additional live rocks para sabay ko na rin sa cycle
