You're welcome.

It would be better if you can ask other members near you for a quick tank tour.

Here are two of my most favorite low-maintenance reef systems, maybe you could also find some inspiration from them:

Why the heck not? The more, the merrier.

Hi guys!

Im very very new to Marine aquarium. but want to get into this hobby so bad. i am very optimistic that you guys here in RF will make this come true.=)

we are currently renovating our house and we plan to put a marine tank in our living room. maybe 72" x 24" x 24".

we are in a very early stage of the renovation, i can have some plans change or redo in order to accommodate a marine tank.

here are some questions i hope to be answered:

1. do i need a special electrical outlet line to power the pumps etc.? or normal outlet would do?
2. i believe the 72" x 24" x 24" would be a + - 200g tank. how will this affect my electrical bill?
3. what else do you suggest i prepare at this point in order of the renovation (electical, plumbing etc.)

hope to hear from you guys very soon!

thanks!!!!

thurrmac says: just have an AVR for you protection against surges... :D

2. i believe the 72" x 24" x 24" would be a + - 200g tank. how will this affect my electrical bill?
thurrmac says: consumption will mostly spike when your tank has corals, corals need light for photosynthesis (not your ordinary normal light) for 200g tank id say 400w halide or 4pcs radions but still depends on what kind of corals, flow for capturing food and chiller when you need to lower your temp which is 24 to 29 deg. cel. (its like a mini fridge LOL) :D

3. what else do you suggest i prepare at this point in order of the renovation (electical, plumbing etc.)
thurrmac says: kindly post pics so we can assess what needs to be done... :D

hope to hear from you guys very soon!

thanks!!!!

My wife and i finally decided to try saltwater, galing ako ng freshwater pero that was 10yrs before pa yun.

Anyway, planning to put up a 30 or 50g tank depende sa budget and size. Still waiting for mang ramons quote. Wala ba talga ganong LFS dito sa may fairview qc area? Went to ritchie's (fev) place to look around and ask na din. Ok ba price nya?

Hope to learn more and sana huwag kayo magsawa sa pag sagot sa mga newbies na katulad ko. Hehehe

Thanks,
Allan

Not sure kung bukas pa yun eh.

Marty

@seth...

Thanks
