Hello RP,
I really have one question na kelangan ko tulong ko before my parents let me shut down my tank and quit the hobby.. (wag nmn sana.)
My tank is already about 2 1/2 months old after cycling and everytime I add new fish...
it dies 3-7 days later..
pero about before the new year, I adopted some fishes from a fellow RP member,
A scopas, a foxface and a convict tang..
till now very healthy and active sila.
I paused for two weeks then added another batch..
around 4 pieces of fish,
Only 1 yellow wrasse survived till now..
then another last tuesday..
dead prin.
Other tenants are doing very well,
I have 3 CS, 1 Banded Shrimp, 1 Snowflake Eel and even a two week old Sea horse( I plan on putting him sa refugium once I set it up, he eats the plankton I prepare).
And wala p akong death count on even one invert kya nagtataka ako since mas sensitive sila sa water quality.
My tank is 150g (60x24x24)
Params are almost perfect, Ammonia - 0, Nitrite - 0, Nitrate - 5 , pH - 8.0
Salinity is 1.022
I acclimate fish for about two hours,
and tinetest ko if the Salinity and pH match pa and if not, edi extend p for acclimation.

Sana matulungan nyo ako..
I get fish from different locations nmn to test out if un ang problem pero hindi eh,
same fish massacre prin... :(
I dont want to be a serial fish killer and quit the hobby forcibly by my parents..

If there are still fishes and invertebrates thriving in your tank, then the new fishes you acquired are probably cyanide-caught or have internal diseases. Happens most of the time lalo kung sa Cartimar galing yung fishes.

I would suggest you quarantine your newly bought fishes first before putting it in your main tank, sayang naman kung mahahawaan ng sakit yung mga matatagal mo nang alaga. And make sure the fishes you will buy are eating and are swimming actively.

Do you also see any signs of gasping? Labored breathing? Count the number of times they breathe in a minute, kapag lumagpas ng 100 yan malamang may problema... Marine velvet is also a common culprit, aside from intestinal problems caused by pathogens or as a result of cyanide.
Cheers,
Marty

Thank you po sir for the fast reply..
I got my fishes po some from fellow RP and some from gatchalian exporters..
I kinda request them kung pde itry kung feeding ung fishes nila before I get them..
and kapag nasa tank ko nmn active swimmers and eaters..
then magugulat k nlng the next morning dead..
sometimes nakikita ko pa cla nga mga 1am very okay then morning lying dead.
nsa top ng surface paikot ikot then... :|

Tama si seth, quarantine your fishes. Tama yung ginagawa mo na check muna kung kumakain yung fishes before you acquire. I'm more concern with the snowflake eel bro, na-observe mo na ba siya during lights off?

Bro, kahit kumakain fishes before you acquire it's still hit & miss. I've experience that lot of times.

cge po I'll use my spare 20g tank as a QT...

The snowflake po?
I've watched him a almost every night after work po..
Around 12pm something..
He behaves nice nmn sir..
And I feed him some pieces of raw shrimp at that time..
None of my crustaceans are suddenly missing as of now... :D
And he's about... Two weeks na po sa tank..

I really just dont get the reason behind those deaths po..
And my parents warned me as if I'm throwing money away nrin..
Which is true nmn..

Thanks po sa help mga master.. :D
hopefully makapagpull through ung system ko po.

If ok naman yung in-adopt mo from rp members.. if hindi na-stress sa mga old tank residents, may sakit na yung fishes from the very start. There are many reasons, parasite, wrong handling, stress, may sakit ang isda.. I would advise na huwag ka muna bumili ng mahal para di masyadong masakit sa bulsa or stop buying fish muna. Don't give up.. :-)

hawkfish nmn po seems fine with my inhabitants..
Regarding sa maroon po...
It mostly bullies other clowns/anemonefishes po right?
Pero I dont plan on adding other types of clowns-anemonefishes so I guess it wont be a problem po...
Other balak ko pong fishes are tangs and maybe some chromis po..
Your call po if you think I'm on the right track before adopting sir.. :D

first off, anong new fishes mo? baka naman mahirap talaga sila buhayin.. 2nd, when you bought them, ok sila? swimming, eating, breathing normally? be careful sa new fishes from carti and exporter.. dati may new fish ako from exporter, clown fish.. may brooklynella.. patay lahat ng fishes ko sa display.. kaya ingat ingat na lang.. hindi ganun kadalas may ganung parasites, kadalasan at pinaka common is ich.. QT is the best way to go especially sa wild caught fishes.. also, your snowflake will eat your inverts sooner or later.. anong pinapakain mo sa sea horse? plankton? what kind? dried phyto?
