hindi ba pwede po or masolve yung prob ko kung papalitan ko lang NSW yung20g, then add some medicine and put in the fish and other equipments? add some cleaners like shrimp and neon goby?

The problem is not that your fishes are sick, it is they are getting sick because of your system. I would not suggest not to buy the 30g. If you dont remove your current fishes, most probably madeads sila and it's also not cool.. sorry but it's the harsh reality.. if they do not die of the ammonia spike, they will either die of starvation, sickness or fighting.. here's one good thing to remember when buying fishes.. you should reaserch them first before buying.. and not go to carti or some other LFS tapos may makita kang isda, maganda to, bilhin ko to, then reasearch kung paano alagaan.. FIrst you'll have to consider what they eat.. wag ka makikinig sa LFS.. That's a big no, no.. sasabihin nila kumakain ng lumot pero hindi naman.. then the fish will die of starvation.. like your mandarin.. it requires atleast 100g tank with lots of LR kasi copepods lang kinakain niyan.. very very seldom it will eat pellets.. Then consider their behavior and adult size.. most fishes sa LFS baby.. lalaki pa yan.. make sure you have enough space for them to grow.. mga damsels maliit lang.. pero they terrorize a tank.. kahit 30g yan.. pag mag add ka ng bagong fish.. d titigilan ng damsel yun.. kasi very territorial sila.. advice ko, mag mobile data ka bago bumili ng fish.. then punta ka sa liveaquaria.com.. para may quick reference ka sa fish like food, care level and minimum tank size..

ayusin naman natin set-up mo.. meron kang 20g.. would you like to have a sump? sump gives you more water volume and stability.. also you can add your equipment sa sump para hindi kita sa main tank.. its an option pwede wala, pero preferable na meron.. yung stand mo ba is metal? make sure na may rust proofing ka or something.. kahit nasa taas yung tank mo, kakalawangin yan.. yung sk-05, benta mo na yun.. basura lang yan.. mag skimmerless ka na lang.. or mag queen skimmer ka na lang na modified.. search mo na lang sa DIY section.. use at least blue treasure na saltmix if you want to keep corals in the future.. you have very minimal room for fish sa 20g skimmerless tank.. maybe 2 nemos, 1 goby and 1 damsel/cardinal.. that would be pushing it IMO.. dwarf angels need atleast 30g.. If i were you, i'd keep the hang on back filter, make sure its big enough.. clean the foam every few days or every day.. remove the sk-05.. keep the waver 2000.. wait a few weeks.. add the fishes you want slowly.. i dead fish in the 20g would mess up the tank really quickly..

good luck.. isipin mo na kung ano gusto mo itsura ng tank mo.. tingnan mo sa mga tanks dito na 20g din.. sa member's section.. para makita mo kung anong fishes meron sila, equip, etc..

Alex, nakaka-confuse yung plan mo. Kasi title thread mo FOWLR pero nagpm ka sabi mo magreef ka?

Anyway, kung ako lahat ng isda ipaaadopt ko gaya ng suggestion nila. Diyan pa lang sa angels/butterflies mo overstocked ka na at malabo rin malagay sa reef tank iyan. Mas malaki pa ata ang total fishload no kung ikukumpara sa 100gal ko. I'll be frank, since may sakit na yung iba dyan most likely mauubos rin sila dahil sa stress at space iasues. kung hindi mo kayang mag-sump at least maglagay ka ng HOB filters or better yet pagawa ka ng nano AIO.

Pagisipan mo muna ng maigi kung ano talaga yung gusto mo para sa tank mo, tapos dun ka magdecide kung tutuloy mo pa yung reef project na balak mo.


Unahin mo testkits and decent na hydrometer. And yung reply ko sa pm mo. Get the best salt you can buy kung hindi ka NSW. Wag ka na munang magdagdag mg kahit anong isda or invertebrate. Don't attempt to medicate unless you can test it and you are familiar with the protocols. Copper will not fully treat cryptocaryon, and so will hyposalinity. Weeks ang adjustment sa hypo. Not days.

Baka maguluhan ka sa advice namin that is why I suggested you should post pics of the system, that way mas maganda at accurate yung maibibigay naming payo.

And pare dont be discouraged sa dami ng kailangan mong baguhin. Lahat tayo dumaan dyan. Manage your excitement sa pagbili ng alaga, i-channel mo muna yang excitment na yan sa pagsetup ng system mo. Basahin mo yung mga build threads dito sa forum na similar sa system mo para makakita ka examples.

Just an off the bat estimate, pag nagstart ka magprepare now, at least 1.5 months pa bago maging ready system mo to house fishes. Kung acceptable sa yo yan then go. ang sigurado naman dyan eh you wont be disappointed pag nakita mong your livestock are healthy.

Anyway i restarted my tank, bought a new saltmix (Blue Treasure SPS) kay fevmarine and mixed it to the water i bought from water dealer here in the village.. Start cycling it last Sept15. Hope ok na sya ngayon after a month and a half or 2 months.

ok lang yan bro.. lahat ata kami dumaan sa ganyan.. nakinig sa carti.. namatay lahat.. tapos nasermunan sa RP.. pero if you really really want to pursue this hobby, marami tutulong sayo.. and mas fullfilling kung makita mo na nagflourish yung tank mo.. wag ka magmadali.. start from the basic.. and research before buying anything.. like sa isda.. kahit anong pilit natin, hindi mo mapapakain yung mga isda na specialized eaters.. dapat alam mo yung possible mabuhay sa tank mo.. compatibility issue malaking bagay din.. kasi sa dagat ang laki ng space nila at mga pwede pagtaguan.. sa tank, sobrang limited.. yung iba kakain ng corals, yung iba aawayin yung ibang isda hanggang mamatay..

bro check my tank thread, tulad mo ganyan din ako hehehe maraming sermon and I learned the hard way. tama ang mga master wait mo muna ung cycle. logically speaking, para kang gumagawa ng bahay. ang cycle ung pundasyon ng bahay mo. kng mamadaliin mo matapos ung pundasyon na un, sooner or later magkakaproblema ka...

never buy damsels sa 20g, ung mga damsels ko na kay Marty na hehehe... very territorial sila lalo sa 20g na tank... bili ka lng ng maliliit ng isda... after mo magcycle, wag mo madaliin ang paglagay ng isda.. cguro start with 2 small fish (again, wag damsel hehe)

corals naman, I suggest start ka sa GSP parang bermuda grass lng yan para sa akin very hardy sila kasi sila ung tumagal sa tank ko kahit nung nagka diatom bloom ako sa awa ng diyos ng dagat nabuhay sila.. after mawala ung diatoms ko tsaka lng ako naglagay ng ibang corals.. ung iba either natutunaw or bigla na lng mamamatay kng mamadaliin mo.. after 3-4 months cguro pwede mo na lagyan ng mas magagandang corals yan.. post ka ng pics ng tank mo bro

wag naman sana sabi nag kuya ko nung umalis sya sa bhay mga 3" padaw sa stand then mismong lower part n nang tank yung tubig, sabi ko nga wag naman sana kung hindi magrereset ako, kappickup ko palang nmn kay fev ng master test kit ko

QUESTION: May affect ba yun sa water kung mabababad yung water sa tubig baha? i mean hindi naman mahahaluan or papasok sa loob But the tank itself nakababad like 1/4 or half?

good afternoon users here in RP, pasensya na ngayon lang ako sinipag iupdate ang tank ko. so here we go..

i restarted the water of the tank to new SPS Blue Treasure Saltmix (from Fev) with Purified Water i bought sa water dealer dito samin at ginawa ko sya last September 15, 2014. After po nun wala pa akong test kita, nakuha ko yung API Saltwater Master Kit (Marine) kay fev nung kasagsagan ng bagyaong "Mario" last September 19, 2014. Awa ng diyos di naman naabutan yung tank ko nun tubig baha parang hanggang 1/4 lang ng aquarium inabot since di ko naakyat sa 2nd floor namin kasi may laman ng tubig.

here's my result for September 20, 2014 (after ko makabalik sa bahay, cleaned up and ready for testing)
this was made morning before my event.

Ammonia: 0.25-0.50 ppm
Nitrite: 0-0.25 ppm
Nitrate: 5.0-10 ppm
pH: 8.2-8.4





evening of sept 20, nilagyan ko overnight ng 5 large raw shrimps i bought from farmers market and kinabukasan ng test ako

here's my result for September 21, 2014

Ammonia: 1.0-2.0 ppm
Nitrite: 5.0 ppm
Nitrate: 40 ppm

im back..now continue the story..i ran another test last Sept 25 (started cycle; September 15) after the day i put/stay overnight some raw shrimps i bought from farmers market.

September 25, 2014 test

Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 5.0-10 ppm
pH 8.2



ok na at stable naman yung results
...on sept 28 ng try na ako mag lagay ng 2 nemos and 3 inverts (turbo snails and coral banded shrimp)
pero after 2 days bumigay yung nemos (i'll try to get nemo nalang siguro pag may anemone na ako ) one by one kaya ang natira nalang ay mga inverts. ito sila



sa wakas may tumagal na rin na LS sa DT ko
i also purchased BIOCHEM Calcium and Carbonate Alkalinity and kH and Calcium testkits and ran test



September 28 Cal and kH results
*according to the instruction reef best cal is 400-500 and dKh is 7.0-9.0 dKh
Cal after 25 drops (500 ppm)
kH after 9 drops (9.0 dKh)

...October na! October 3, 2014. I bought 2 fishes(firefish and chromis) and 2 corals(brain and hammer)

huhu firefish talaga laging nagtatago sa rocks
i acclimate them for 2 and half hours before i put them sa DT ko. according to my research acclimation sa fish 1 hour or more and sa corals naman 2-3 hours.

also i ran tests and here some good results
