About to start a Reef tank...

Hi Guys,

Medyo a few months na ako nag re-research about reef tanks and stuff. (I'm a FW convert) pero the equipment and lights and all are kinda hard to come by localy.

I wanna do all the reasearch I can before I do any equipment purchasing

sooo...

What i do have now is a 75 gal tank and what I wanna ask is what skimmer would you recomend and what lights can be bought here localy as well.

I saw the Via Aqua skimmer and the ORCA and also some Turbo Skimmer... what would you guys recomend????
any others that I havn't seen in Cartimar?

I was also planning and getting the BigBoy (double) light set.

Soo.. if any body wants to help a newb out?

baguhan din ako, regarding sa skimmer, kung may budget ka naman, may mga choices ka sa Direct Aquatics, mga high end equipments. Actually, your choice would highly depend on your budget. ako nung nag uumpisa turbo skimmer din kinuha ko, in the long run, nag modify din ako to fine tune the skimmer. di ako familiar sa big boy, antayin na lang natin yung mga BIG BOYS

Saan yung Direct Aquatics? Cartimar din ba yun?

Alam ko nga yung Turbo Skimmer na sinasabi mo.. If I get that, what other powerhead would be ideal to add to get good flow?

and pag water change mas OK din ba to just buy Salt water from cartimar din?

Direct Aquatics is in San juan, may thread dito ng exact location nya. usually kasamang powerhead nun yung seaquest 2200. depende sa iyo kung ano gusto gamiting tubig, saltmix ba or natural sea water.

ilang inches tank mo? kakasya ba 48inches? ilang K ba ang arcadia?

kulang yun for corals. i suggest, wag ka na lang muna magcorals, or magdagdag ka pa ng ilaw. check suggested designs here.

standard 75g is 48in. standard 40W flourescent is also 48". pwede rin naman, ipatong mo na lang sa ibabawa.

direction...hmmm... pili ka na lang ng topic sa Lighting, Filtration...etc.
