Got parts from Ace, all threaded and ready, so I didn't do any cutting here, just spent 30 minutes in the plumbing section, building this like a jigsaw puzzle. I still remember the look on the salesman's face

This cost me less than P400. Tested on a pail of water (still cycling my 10g sump, so no picture in action).
You only have to bleed the air from the upper U-joint, after that, it's all go, kahit on-off mo return pump, it automatically starts siphon. Medyo eye-sore nga lang, pero I'm planning to hide behind the rocks, and hopefully with some branching corals, matakpan 'to.
Yung cap, lalagyan ko pa ng butas, I tested this one without the cap. It's only purpose is to keep the snails out

By the way, as per the 3reef link, the larger the pipe's diameter and the longer is the one that is inside the tank, the faster the flow.
