Cheap overflow

Got the idea here from 3reef.

Got parts from Ace, all threaded and ready, so I didn't do any cutting here, just spent 30 minutes in the plumbing section, building this like a jigsaw puzzle. I still remember the look on the salesman's face

This cost me less than P400. Tested on a pail of water (still cycling my 10g sump, so no picture in action).

You only have to bleed the air from the upper U-joint, after that, it's all go, kahit on-off mo return pump, it automatically starts siphon. Medyo eye-sore nga lang, pero I'm planning to hide behind the rocks, and hopefully with some branching corals, matakpan 'to.

Yung cap, lalagyan ko pa ng butas, I tested this one without the cap. It's only purpose is to keep the snails out I'm just thinking that the number and size of the holes on the cap can dictate the water flow.

By the way, as per the 3reef link, the larger the pipe's diameter and the longer is the one that is inside the tank, the faster the flow.

Yup, yan nga ata yung gaya sa "Singapore Overflow". Ginawa ko na rin yan kaso di ko nagamit. Parang ang daming elbow lang masyado ng sayo Chad.

Though this one doesn't also need priming pag naputol ang flow. I have installed and it's running ok. Pero, I get some gurgling every now and then, connected it directly to the skimmer, nde tuloy makapagform ng foam yung skimmer, dahil may biglang surge ng water.

Aside from the sudden surge, very unsightly especially for my 15g . Meron ba kayong suggestions for an overflow?

Yyung RO naman kasi seems too big. Help naman peeps... model and kung saan meron... thanks.
