wax, don't cure in your tank. PH of newly made rock is around 11 - 12 because of the cement. Can be cured in fresh running water, but you'll be hard pressed to find clean running water around town. Sa ilog sa probinsya is a better choice. Once the PH is down to neutral, you can put some in your tank for "seeding". Ako, I used "running" water from my RO/DI waste water during the winter. During summer I use the waste to water the plants around the house.
The way I made mine, I used sand as casting mold, iba-ibang shape, kasing laki ng maliit na pomelo. Then I mixed the cement, aragonite and crushed shell, pag OK na ang consistency, I pourned into the mold until dry. Use a small batya, para hindi masayang ang extra sand. You may have to play around with the mixture. Dapat porous ang labas. Sobra ang semento at tubig, matigas; kulang, it will crumble. Do the noodles or rock salt later, after you've got the mixture down pat.
One thing to add - it is unrealistic to expect 100% homemade rocks in a tank. Siguro 80 - 20, 80% natural live rock pa rin, 20% homemade. Unless very successful ang seeding sa dagat, then you can go 100%. Masyadong malamig ang dagat dito sa amin, ibang iba ang mga organisms dito, hindi compatible sa tropical reef. So, I've never tried naturally seeded artificial rocks.
